Wearing the Baluchari silk saree is a common practice for women in Bangladesh and India. This particular style of saree originated in Bengal and is known for its pallu, which depicts images from mythology. The Baluchari silk saree originally comes from West Bengal. The weaving of these sarees began around 500 years ago in a small village called Baluchar in the district of Murshidabad in West Bengal, which gave rise to the name Baluchari.
